Aquatic Plants and Animals
Those plants and animals which are found/live in water are called Aquatic Plants and Animals.
Aquatic Animals
Seahorse, Fish, Whale, Seal,
Aquatic PlantsLotus, Water lily
Unique features of Aquatic Plants
1. Absence of cuticle layer on body surface.
2. Stomata always remain open.
3. Both sides of leaves have stomata.
4. Body is less rigid and leaves have air sacs.
5. Roots are smaller and specialised to absorb oxygen dissolved in water.
Amphibian
The animals that can live on both land and water are called Amphibians. Example frogs, tortoise, salamanders etc..
But turtle is not an amphibian. It is a reptile.
At present amphibians have been assign some other characters also as unshelled eggs, permeable skin, cold blooded animals (body temperature is not constant) etc.
Penguins
Penguins are flightless birds.
These are commonly found towards Southern hemisphere (South Pole ) .
These are black towards back while white towards below.
There are 18 species or varieties of Penguins.
Some of them are about 1 m in height while some are only 14 inches.
These live in water bodies and hence called Marine Birds.
